An Issuer Sponsored holding is maintained by the issuer of your shares. The issuer at the share registry maintains all details relating to your holding. Your Issuer Sponsored holding can be identified by an ‘I’ at the start of your Shareholder Reference Number (SRN) which is printed on your holding statement. When your shares are Issuer Sponsored, you are free to trade them through any broker without the need to move them around. You give your nominated broker permission to access your holding when you buy or sell.

If your shares are Broker Sponsored, you will have a Holder Identification Number (HIN) allocated to your holding rather than a Shareholder Reference Number (SRN). Your Broker Sponsored holding can be identified by an ‘X’ at the start of your HIN which is printed on your holding Statement.

The Securityholder Reference Number (SRN) is the identifying number which links your personal details to your individual investment. It is made up of the letter ‘I’ followed by ten numbers (e.g. I0001234567). The SRN provides you with additional security for your investments. This number is very important and should be recorded and kept secure as it will need to be quoted in all dealings and communications with the share registry or a broker. If you misplace your SRN you will need to contact Computershare. A confirmation of your holding stating your SRN will be sent to you. If you believe someone has obtained knowledge of your SRN and may use it fraudulently, contact Computershare immediately on 1300 850 505 to request a trading lock on your securities. You will need to complete a Replacement SRN form, complete the required details and forward to the relevant share registry (Computershare) office.

The Holder Identification Number (HIN) is the identifying number which links your personal details to your individual investments. The HIN is used by your broker (or other CHESS participant) to group your holdings together. It is made up of the letter ‘X’ followed by ten numbers (e.g. X0001234567). The HIN provides you with additional security for your investments. This number is very important and should be recorded and kept secure as it will need to be quoted in all dealings and communications with your broker and the share registry. If you misplace your HIN you will need to contact your broker who will assist you.
